Spice Village Indian Restaurant - Drayton, Portsmouth, UK

If you are looking for authentic Indian flavour and not just curry's loaded with food colour, then Spice Village Indian Restaurant is your place. We have tried many Indian restaurants in Portsmouth, and being Indian ourselves, we know the taste of genuine Indian food. We go here at least once in two weeks, either for a date night or just whenever we feel like not cooking at home.

Location and Parking.

Located at 165 Havant Rd, Drayton, Portsmouth. There is plenty of parking on the Havant Road and also on Drayton Lane. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, the restaurant is quite busy so you may not get parking close to the restaurant, however you should get it within walking distance.

Interior and Ambience.

The interior is spacious with a lot of tables of different sizes. If you are going as a couple or group of three, it is highly unlikely that you will miss out on getting a seat here, but during busy times I would recommend that you call the restaurant in advance and make a booking. For larger groups, you should definitely book in advance so that you are not disappointed.

As for the ambience, well what can I say? They have nice Indian music playing in the background which will keep you entertained.

Food and Drinks.

The quality of food is amazing for us, as we can feel authentic Indian flavours in their curries. Their menu has a range of items on offer which makes selection headache. Some of our favourites are Himalayan Chicken, Balti Chicken, Karala Chicken and Shimla Chicken.

Service.

We never had any bad experience here. The staff are friendly and the service is great. In very busy times, it can take longer than normal for the meals to arrive, but will be worth it.

Overall Comments.

We always go this restaurant for our comfort food and will continue to go there again. We still haven't tried so many things on the menu.

Hope you have found this useful and until next time, take care and enjoy.

Are you in Paris and want to binge on the traditional and authentic French crepes? Then Kasha is the place you should pay a visit. It certainly satisfied my craving for some delicious crepes and I'm sure you will not be disappointed. A cute little tapas bar located in the Rue des Recollets suburb, it looks like a normal cafe from the outside but inside, you will find like minded crepe lovers everywhere and a very friendly decor. We were recommended this place by our local AirBnB host and I couldn't thank him enough.  Interior View of Kasha Interior View of Kasha Location Located in Rue des Recollets suburb of Paris.
